Indian PV materials manufacturer RenewSys India has signed a 1.2GW supply agreement with Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer Kosol Energie for polyolefin elastomer (POE) encapsulants and backsheets.

Under the 12-month agreement, running from October 2026 to September 2027, RenewSys will supply POE encapsulants under its CONSERV brand and backsheets under its PRESERV brand to Kosol.

The deal follows a previous 1.1GW POE encapsulant supply agreement between the companies, which ran from December 2025 to September 2026. The latest agreement expands the partnership to include backsheets alongside encapsulants.

The materials will be used in Kosol’s n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) module production, including its glass-to-backsheet product range, at its fully automated manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

RenewSys said its encapsulants are UL-certified and engineered for TOPCon cells, with high volume resistivity, low water absorption and resistance to potential-induced degradation (PID).

Its backsheets are designed to provide moisture protection and electrical insulation for PV modules.

The agreement comes amid continued expansion of India’s domestic solar module manufacturing capacity, supported by the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme and demand from utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I) and rooftop solar segments.

Mumbai-headquartered RenewSys, the renewable energy arm of the ENPEE Group, manufactures solar PV modules, encapsulants and backsheets, with production capacities of 5.6GW, 17GW and 4GW, respectively. The company also has a 2.7GW high-efficiency solar cell line under installation.

Earlier this year, the manufacturer commissioned a 3GW solar module manufacturing facility in Raigad, Maharashtra. The 16-acre, AI-powered and fully automated plant increases its total module manufacturing capacity to 5.6GW and is designed to produce TOPCon modules.
