It seems there may be collaboration on the cards for two of the major technology players, as Reuters has reported. Japan’s Toshiba Corp. and Sharp Corp. are allegedly looking to start up a partnership agreement for their respective solar businesses in response to growing market demand for PV products and services.

The Reuters report cited a report in the Asahi newspaper that claimed that the arrangement would see Toshiba supply electricity distribution systems to Sharp, who would in turn supply panels to Toshiba. The aim would be to spot potential demand openings in the market and work together to supply solar energy to these factories, large buildings and public facilities.

However, the Reuters report authors were unable to contact officials at Toshiba and Sharp.
