Singapore-based energy and water company Sembcorp Industries will develop two grid-connected rooftop solar projects with a combined capacity of 4.1MW at airframe maintenance firm ST Aerospace’s facilities in Changi and Seletar, Singapore.
The S$5.4 million (US$3.97 million) investment is Sembcorp’s second rooftop solar energy deal for the aerospace and aviation industry in Singapore.

Both the Changi and Seletar PV systems will be built, owned, operated and maintained by Sembcorp. Construction will begin this month, with completion expected by February 2018 and April 2018 respectively.
Power will be supplied directly to the ST Aerospace facilities.

With Sembcorp’s new photovoltaic systems, ST Aerospace’s facilities will be powered by renewables and will reduce their carbon footprint.”
Sembcorp has previously announced similar solar projects at two airfreight terminals at Singapore’s Changi Airport, as well as at the premises of Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore and Stolthaven Singapore.
Globally, Sembcorp has over 2GW of renewable energy and energy-from-waste capacity across Singapore, China, India and the UK.
Last month, Sembcorp Industries’ wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Utilities agreed to acquire IDFC Private Equity Fund III (IDFC)’s remaining stake in its Indian renewable energy arm Sembcorp Green Infra (SGI) for INR14.1 billion (US$220 million).
