Lightsource bp closes on US$533m financing package to fund construction of two US solar PV projects totalling 480MW

Lightsource bp has closed on a US$533 million financing package for the development of 480MW of solar PV across the US as the company continues to expand its operations in the country.
The 181 MW Lily solar + storage project, located east of Dallas, Texas, is the company’s first hybrid project in North America that integrates a renewable energy plant with utility-scale battery storage. The project includes 55 MWdc of battery storage, part of Enel’s installation of around 600 MW of new storage capacity on the Texas power grid by 2022.

Lightsource bp has closed on a US$100 million financing package for the 130MW Black Bear Solar energy project in Montgomery County, Alabama, which once complete will increase the state’s total installed solar capacity by more than 20%, according to Lightsource bp.
