Subsidiaries of Daqo New Energy have agreed large five-year polysilicon supply agreements with Chinese solar manufacturing companies, the most recent in a number of significant deals signed this year by the company.
Solar polysilicon prices jumped by a further 4% this week, fuelling industry assessments that prices will soon jump above the RMB300/kg (US$44.74/kg) barrier.
The solar industry supply chain’s jitters continued this week after polysilicon prices hit another high, driving silicon wafer prices further upward too.
Polysilicon prices will likely continue rising throughout 2022 and only soften towards the very end of the year, driven by unfaltering demand and panic buying.
