Tigo Energy appoints Takashi Tomita, Yair Cohen and Nathan Zommer to board of advisors

Tigo Energy has announced that Professor Takashi Tomita, Mr. Yair Cohen and Dr. Nathan Zommer will join the company’s board of advisors.

Takashi Tomita is a Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo, Research Center of Advanced Science and Technology, and is also a Member of the Market Strategy Board of the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC). Mr. Tomita is an industry veteran, having served in leadership roles for 34 years at SHARP Corporation, most notably as an Executive Director of Sharp and head of the Solar Business Group. He has also served as a Committee Member of Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard of METI and Advisory Board Member of the NARA Advanced and Technology Institute.

Dr. Nathan Zommer founded IXYS in 1983. He served as director since 1983 and has been chairman of the board, president and CEO since March 1993. Among other leadership positions, Dr. Zommer previously served as a scientist in the Hewlett Packard Laboratories and director of the Power MOS division for Intersil/General Electric. He also holds many patents in Power OSFETs and IGBTs.

Before joining the IDB Group in 2005, Yair Cohen served as a Brigadier General in the central military intelligence unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he led the IDF’s 8200 Unit. At present he holds an executive leadership role within Clal Energy and Elron and serves as a Director at several other IDB Group companies, including: Starling, Safend, RDC, Atlantium, RADLIVE, BPT, Aqwise and Ellara. Mr. Cohen is also the Chairman of ECtel.
