Coveme has become one of Europe’s first PV manufacturers to start operating out of China by building a facility in Jiangsu Province. The 10,000m2 site is focusing production on the company’s dyMat PYE backsheets and has been equipped with the latest lamination, coating and heat stabilization technology.
Monthly capacity from the facility’s two production lines stands at four million square metres, and, with its own slitting department, these backsheets can be presented in roll, sheet and punched format. Coveme's €30-million development, located in Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone, also features workshops, laboratories and offices.
“The opening of our first plant in China will be a significant milestone for Coveme,” said the president of Coveme’s board of directors, Pier Luigi Miciano. “China is the world’s largest PV manufacturing market, and we decided to expand Coveme’s backsheet manufacturing capacity here in order to be close to the most important customers in China and Asia. With the plant in China, Coveme is able to respond quickly to market demand and provide clients with the latest innovative technical solutions.”
