Building on the companies’ successful collaboration on the recently announced 10MW Dunhuang City power plant, Enfinity and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) have embarked on a joint venture agreement to promote and actively develop solar power projects in China, Europe and worldwide. The agreement was signed in Brussels at an event attended by the Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy.
Enfinity and CGNPC will work together on the construction and development of solar power projects in China, and also aim to promote the solar power industry throughout the country.
“The Joint Venture will initially focus on photovoltaic (PV) projects and then may select and develop other business in the solar power industry chain that enhances the core competitiveness of the Joint Venture and its high ancillary value,” said Qian Zhimin, Chairman of the Board of CGNPC.
An additional Collaboration Agreement was signed between Enfinity, CGNPC, Ninxgia region and Shizuishan city for the development of 2000MWp of solar energy projects over the next 10-year period. Land has been secured for 200MWp of this figure.
Furthermore, Enfinity has also signed another agreement with Qinghai Province and CGNPC for further 2000MWp of PV power plant development, again over a 10-year period. For this agreement, 100MWp of the land has been secured for Enfinity, with 10MWp fully permitted under CGNPC.
The companies also announced their intention to further their collaboration through the development of 2GW European and worldwide solar power projects.
