Nextronex has been selected by the American Municipal Power (AMP) to supply a 4.2MW solar plant in Napoleon, Ohio, with its 1,000V DC converters. The project is expected to be completed in July 2012.

A 7% higher energy output is expected because the system is able to use a number of inverters to generate energy at only 650W.

Greg Knudson, vice president of sales and marketing for Nextronex, commented: “The selection of Nextronex aligns perfectly with AMP-Ohio’s strategy of becoming a national utility leader by pursuing the development of renewable generation projects, including solar, to reduce its members’ current exposure to the volatile wholesale electric market and to further diversify power supply portfolios. This solar energy investment will contribute to that goal while also maximizing the energy output by selecting the highest performing products on the market today.”
