PV julist and juwi have finished work on a 7.4MW rooftop installation at Goodyear Dunlop’s logistics centre in Philippsburg, Germany. The system is the world’s third-largest roof array and has the capacity to generate 7.3 million kWh of electricity every year.

China Sunergy has signed a module supply contract for the world’s largest stand-alone building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) project in Nanjing, China, reports Design-Build Solar. CEEG Solar Energy Research Institute has agreed to purchase 7MW of modules for its rooftop project at Nanjing South Railway Station, which, upon its completion, will be one of the most energy efficient public buildings in China.

Colexon Energy closed out 2010 with the sale of three of its solar power plants to an undisclosed Irish investment company. The €11.5-million sale marks the largest order volume of Colexon in the Italian market to date. The three plants: Leo at 998kWp, Corvo at 997kWp and Valle at 997kWp were developed and constructed as turnkey projects by Colexon Italia, a subsidiary of Colexon Energy.

TerniEnergia has completed the construction of 31 industrial sized photovoltaic plants, together totalling 33.3MWp. A sum of 4.4MWp was developed for Joint Venture’s power generation business, with the remaining built on behalf of third parties. The new plants are located in Sardegna, Umbria, Lazio, Puglia, Piemonte, Abruzzo, Veneto, Toscana e Campania regions.

NuGen Capital Management and KDC Solar have selected Solar Power to develop their joint venture: the White Rose distribution warehouse rooftop installation in Carteret, New Jersey. The 5MW rooftop system will be designed, engineered, and constructed by Solar Power which, under its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with NuGen and KDC Solar, will also monitor and service the solar plant once it is completed.

Renewable energy project developer Sustainable Energy Capital Partners (SECP) has formed a joint venture partnership with Korean independent power producer Posco Power to develop and build a 300MW photovoltaic power plant in Boulder City, Nevada. Global engineering/construction/management services firm Parsons has also signed on to the project.

Etrion has completed its 1MW Ruffano solar park in Puglia, Italy. The solar park will generate over 1.7 million kilowatt hours and is assisted by Italy’s 2010 feed-in-tariff of €.346 per kWh and a market price of around €0.08 per kWh.

ContourGlobal and Guascor Solar have signed a contract to develop 30MW of PV projects in Italy. The first of these projects, a 6MW plant in Sabaudia, is already operational, with a building work on a second 8.5MW development in Sicily scheduled to start in early 2011. The plants will be built by Guascor and owned and operated by ContourGlobal.

In June 2010, Statkraft decided that it would begin to solely focus its business on hydropower, wind power, gas power and district heating and in keeping with its decision, it has sold its Casale solar park to two Italian investors: Eurowood and Blue Stream Resources. All shares of the 3.3MWp solar park, which was owned by Statkraft’s RA1 company, have been signed and closed and are now equally owned between the two Italian companies.

The U.S. Department of the Interior has given its seal of approval to SolarReserve’s Nevada-based Crescent Dunes solar thermal plant. Construction work on the 110MW plant is scheduled to begin in mid-2011, with total costs for the project expected to be around US$475 million.
