JinkoSolar has announced that it has won a contract with GroupShops, a procurement and project management company in Israel, to provide 621 of its full black BIPV modules for a rooftop project with the country’s National Library in Kiryat HaLeum, Jerusalem.

Growatt has received the 2022 Red Dot Product Design award for its recently launched Infinity 1500 portable power station, the award jury recognising the solar generator for its innovative roof-rack-style design and exceptional user-oriented features as well as for significant advances in technology.

Chint Solar has announced a new collaboration with Intec Energy Solutions (INTEC) for the construction of a new solar photovoltaic plant in Arges county, southern Romania. The facility is expected to have a capacity of 154 MWp, making it the country’s largest installation of its kind.

The quest to find the ideal balance between efficiency and cost optimization is never ending in the photovoltaics industry. N-type cells, well known for their high efficiency, have started to come to the fore, with the industry placing a major bet on the technology. According to the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH), the maximum theoretically possible efficiency for PERC, HJT and TOPCon cells is 24.5%, 27.5% and 28.7% respectively.

JinkoSolar has released its Q1 2022 financial results, confirming over 8.39GW of global shipments - a new quarterly high, achieved despite a backdrop of a challenging socio-economic landscape. Operating revenue in the quarter was 14.681 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 86.42%, with net profit attributable to the parent company 0.401 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 66.39%.

Sungrow has announced that it has secured a contract to supply its latest ultra-powerful SG350HX string inverter for a 45.75 MW PV project in Saudi Arabia. The project, at the Jubail 3A Independent Water Plant (IWP), is part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 planning and is forecast to begin commercial operations in Q4 2022, generating 600,000 cubic meters of drinkable water each day.
