A 200MW solar tender floated by the Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) has been significantly oversubscribed with a total of 845MW of technical bids from 14 players.

The results are a huge improvement on 2016's 300MW solar tender in Odisha, issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). That tender had to be pruned from its original 450MW billing and eventually only 270MW of capacity was awarded.

However, this pass-through will be applicable for the imposition of any such duty between the date of submission of the bid and the invoice date of the solar PV modules procured for the project.

The state has a cumulative solar target of 2,378MW – which includes 1GW of rooftop solar – under the national target of 100GW of solar power by 2022.
