Schott Solar scores another PV module deal in U.S.

Schott Solar said it has signed a multiyear contract with
AEE Solar to supply the company with more than 5 MW of multicrystalline
photovoltaic modules.

The deal marks the third U.S. supply contract announced by Schott in less than a month, following agreements with PermaCity Solar and DC Power. The latest contract brings the total amount of modules to be supplied by Schott under terms of the deals to more than 28 MW.

AEE Solar, a distributor of renewable energy products since its founding in 1979, has been a wholesaler of Schott
modules in the United States since 1998. The company sells to a network of dealers and installers throughout the United States and Canada.

The modules under contract to AEE Solar–as well as those to be delivered to PermaCity and DC–will be manufactured at Schott’s factory in Billerica, MA, as well as at the company’s 200,000-square-foot flagship facility still under construction in Albuquerque, NM. The company has said that modules from the new Albuquerque plant will start to reach the market by spring 2009.
