Soletrica inverters chosen for 2.3MW North Carolina project

PV inverter manufacturer Solectrica’s transformer inverters have been selected by engineering, procurement and construction firm, Argrand Energy Solutions, for a 2.3MW project in North Carolina. 

The SGI 500XT’s, 500kW external transformer inverters will be used at Franklin County Solar Farm, in Louisburg.

The 4.9 hectare site began construction in June and plans to be complete in October. 

A 15-year PPA with Duke Energy has been arranged, with an estimated 63 million kWh of energy generation predicted over 20-years, powering 352 homes a year and saving 84 million pounds of carbon – the equivalent of 4.3 million gallons of gasoline.

Argand Energy Solutions’ Chief Operating Officer, Clay Hartman said: “For our first utility-scale ground mount system, there was no question as to whether we’d use their SGI 500XT’s with 98% [CEC] efficiency”.
