New York City utility Con Edison and solar company SunPower have announced a collaboration that will see SunPower offer its solar energy systems to homeowners.
US-based renewables firm SunPower is partnering Toronto-based smart thermostat provider ecobee to aid consumers in New York and California in controlling their energy costs.
New York State has mandated a programme to have 50% of its electricity coming from renewable energy by 2030, after governor Andrew Cuomo ordered the State Department of Public Service to draw up a new Clean Energy Standard to support the target.
