Croatia imports about 30% of its electricity and is looking toward increasing at levels of self generation. Although the policy is not clearly defined, the state owned utility company Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP), which generates 95% of Croatia’s power, offers a feed-in tariff roughly equal to $0.58/kWh. However, this tariff applies only to projects with an installed capacity of less than 5MW. Feed-in tariffs for larger projects must be negotiated on a case by case basis.
