The project is spread over 46 hectares and it has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at a tariff of INR4.43/kWh (US$0.068).

TPREL's total installed operating capacity now stands at 1,484MW.

Rahul Shah, chief executive of TPREL, said: “As always, we will continue to look for opportunities to acquire operating wind and solar plants, apart from our own organic growth pipeline, to grow our generation portfolio.”

Last week, Tata also announced that it had commissioned a 30MW solar project in Palaswade in the state of Maharashtra.
