Gian Maria Ferrero joins SunPower as Vice President of Utilities and Power Plants for EMEA

A power industry veteran with over 25 years’ senior experience, Gian Maria Ferrero has joined the SunPower team as vice president and general manager of utilities and power plants for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Ferrero joins the company from his former role as CEO for SAE Power Lines, prior to which he held various senior roles in a 23-year tenure with ABB.

In his role as CEO for SAE Power Lines, he consolidated the company's traditional transmission systems project business and diversified into the micro generation market.  During his 23-year employ at ABB, Inc., he held various senior roles including head of the power systems business area as group senior vice president of ABB Holding in Zurich. He also served as head of the power transmission and distribution systems business area unit in Italy; and in other regional managerial roles.

Mr. Ferrero has a degree in civil engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
