Order Focus: CNPV signs 20MW solar module supply deal with Delta Sud

Integrated photovoltaics manufacturer CNPV Solar Power has signed a long-term strategic partnership sales agreement with Delta Sud, a French project development and distribution company. The deal calls for the supply of 20MW of crystalline-silicon PV modules over the next three years.

Under the terms of the agreement, CNPV will provide Delta Sud with 2.5MW of modules this year, with the remaining 7.5MW and 10MW scheduled for delivery in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to announce this new strategic partnership with Delta Sud, to further strengthen the existing well established partnership with Delta Sud," said Zhang Shunfu, CNPV's CEO, and B. Verraju Chaudary, the company's COO/CTO and board member. "Our strategic partnership with Delta Sud is a significant success for us in aligning ourselves with a proven multiregional energy developer with growing opportunities in established and emerging photovoltaic markets."

"This new contract will significantly help to grow new projects in markets such as the France and Luxembourg solar markets," the executives continued. "We look forward to continuing to expand our relationship with one of our loyal strategic partners, Delta Sud, by providing high quality modules, premium service, and a low-cost industry leading platform."

Yann Sellier, president of Delta Sud, and Stephane Boudjema, its director of technology, said that their company "is proud of this new strategic sales agreement with CNPV. We consider this as a continuation of our good relationship with CNPV to bring their high-quality modules and premium service to our customers across the France.

The Delta Sud agreement marks the fourth three-year module supply deal announced by CNPV over the past month. The Chinese company has also signed 60MW contracts with European project developer-integrators Futech, Galip Solar, and Edisun Power, respectively.
