Sputnik Engineering AG names new General Manager for Spanish office

Solar inverter company Sputnik Engineering has announced a management change in the replacement of Alejandro Lupion with Fernando Sánchez García as General Manager of the Sputnik Engineering Ibérica S.r.l. in Madrid. The change came into effect on September 15th, 2008.

The news accompanies the anticipation of a new law that is to be passed by the Spanish government that foresees huge cuts - especially for ground mounted installations – for feed-in with solar electricity.

“My responsibilities include the definition of a new company strategy that complies with the new feed-in tariff and the necessities of our Spanish customers,” said Mr. Garcia. “While the new decree means, on one hand, a serious brake for the Spanish PV sector, it will also lead us back to a market that is steady and more sustainable. I firmly believe in solar energy as a sustainable solution for the global energy needs.”
