SunLink has announced its supply agreement with Nanosolar to develop and supply a custom, flat-roof system that is the favored mounting solution for Nanosolar. The Nanosolar SunLink roof system was conceived as part of the largest single Solar America Initiative awarded by the US Department of Energy.
“This partnership is a testament to the growing interest in commercial thin-film applications across the industry,” said Christopher Tilley, CEO of SunLink. “We’re excited to team with a forward-thinking leader in technology development such as Nanosolar to pioneer our thin-film product line and to further our engineering milestones.”
The roof-mount system features purportedly easy and fast installation, which is also cost efficient and has a roof-friendly design. The SunLink thin-film mounting product is expected to be offered for commercial sale in the early part of 2010.
Brian Sager, cofounder and VP of corporate development at Nanosolar, and the principal investigator for this project, stated, “The Nanosolar SunLink system for flat rooftops is a product of two-plus years of collaboration to significantly reduce the levelized cost of electricity for commercial solar rooftops. The system combines the Nanosolar Utility Panel’s low cost and significant balance of system advantages with SunLink’s proven mounting system design and experience to create an easy and fast-to-install solution.
