Former US-based CIGS thin-film start-up, HelioVolt, which closed its doors in early 2014 is to have its equipment sold at auction.
Silicon Valley Disposition is holding an online auction starting on January 14 for the complete suite of HelioVolt’s R&D and production tool set, which includes nearly 600 items as well as the complete plant.

The former HelioVolt facility originally opened in 2008 to manufacture CIGS thin-film modules for commercial rooftop, utility-scale ground-mount, residential, BIPV and custom installations. But the company closed the plant last February after it lost its main investor.
