Construction began on the project in December 2016, which was brought online on schedule.

The plant is located on more than 200 hectares in Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park and is being developed by the Solar Park Implementation Agency (SPIA) and Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation.

“With the commissioning of this plant, we have once again demonstrated our strong project development, engineering, and execution capabilities,” said Inderpreet Wadhwa, Azure Power founder and CEO. “We are delighted to make a contribution towards realization of our Honourable prime minister’s commitment towards clean and green energy, through solar power generation. Our sincere gratitude to NTPC and the State of Andhra Pradesh for all the cooperation and support extended.”
