Home to a number of specialist monocrystalline PV manufacturers, the Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit is showcasing its SOL9620 Series and SOL9621 Series metallisation pastes at Intersolar North America, being held in San Francisco next week.

Heraeus has recently launched the SOL9620 Series paste and has claimed it had demonstrated an 80% reduction in contact resistance; approximately a 3mV increase in Voc; and up to 0.25% absolute efficiency gains with customers using monocrystalline-based wafers.

The SOL9620 Series paste is said to have a unique chemistry that has the ability to be fired through different combination of passivation layers and at a relative lower peak temperature than standard firing temperatures, typically required for PERC solar cells.

The SOL9621 Series paste is designed to support multicrystalline double printing applications with cell conversion efficiency gains claimed to be more than 0.10% over rival commercially available double printing pastes.
