Q-Cells SE has sold its recently-completed 12MW Zerbst II solar power plant to the Berlin investment group MCG Management Capital. The system, which is situated on the site of a former military air base, took just six weeks to complete and makes up one-fifth of a huge 46MW solar park.

As the general contractor, Q-Cells was responsible for designing the system and installing 51,696 of its own crystalline solar modules. MCG Group has also contracted Q-Cells to take responsibility for the technical operation, maintenance and upkeep of the 28-hectare site.

”We are pleased that MCG is once again counting on Q-Cells as a reliable partner,” said Nedim Cen, CEO of Q-Cells. “MCG has already acquired four major projects with a total output of 32MWp from us in the last 18 months. We are looking forward to the continued expansion of our cooperation in the future.”

Zerbst II is the latest in an ever-growing number of solar projects developed by the Q-Cells-MCG partnership; in June Q-Cells installed the 11MW Ahorn solar park in Baden-Württemberg.
