CleanMax completes Pune rooftop for Knorr-Bremse

6 February: Leading Indian rooftop solar firm CleanMax Solar has installed a rooftop solar plant for braking systems manufacturer Knorr-Bremse at its commercial vehicles division.

The 600kW solar installation at Knorr-Bremse’s manufacturing facility in Hinjewadi, Pune, will meet 30% of the plant’s electricity requirement. It is based on the ‘pay as you go’ or OPEX model, where CleanMax pays the upfront costs of the system instead of the consumer.

The project is estimated to save Knorr Bremse INR3.4 million (US$53,000) annually.

Gajanan Nabar, CEO of CleanMax Solar said: “We are pleased to see that rooftop solar is really gaining traction among leading corporates. Besides Knorr-Bremse, other European corporates like Vulkan Group, Carl Zeiss, Konecranes, Carlsberg, and SKF Group have adopted our solar solutions in India.”
