Tunisia’s Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies has awarded at least 60MW of solar PV projects in the second round of its 'authorisation regime'.
In the overall 70MW tender, 60MW was to be made up of separate projects with a maximum capacity of 10MW each, with another 10MW to be made up of separate projects with a maximum size of 1MW.

The Ministry release showed 60MW awarded in batches of 10MW to the following companies:
- ABO WIND AG
- Bejulo GmbH
- ENERLAND 2007 Fotovoltaica
- VSB Energies nouvelles
- Lac Tech SARL ET Solar International
- AURASOL SUNEQ GmbH SUNTRACE GmbH
It is not yet clear if the final 10MW originally available were awarded.
Power from the projects will be sold exclusively to the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG).
In the first round of the authorisation programme, a total of 64MW out of a possible 70MW was awarded in May last year. In the same month, the ministry also issued a tender for 500MW of PV projects and another 500MW of wind.
