Solaire Generation has unveiled its new Premium F2 solar carport at General Electric’s (GE) complex in Plainville, Connecticut. The electricity generated by the 98.7kW system will be used to power up to 13 vehicles and is GE's largest charging station of this kind in North America.

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, who was alongside the management teams of both Solaire and GE at the opening ceremony, said, “This exciting project will be a blueprint for people all around the country who are interested in developing this type of green solar charging technology, linking renewable energy with electric vehicles and making our lives cleaner and greener.”

“Solaire Generation is proud to have been selected to design, fabricate and install our solar carport for General Electric and Inovateus. This project exemplifies Solaire's continued commitment to innovation and supports our mission to making a significant and enduring contribution to the development of solar energy,” Laurence Mackler, CEO of Solaire Generation, added.

In addition to the 125MWh of clean electricity generated by its solar array every year, the carport offers a further revenue stream through Solaire's new patent-pending advertising and branding platform, which offers 200 square feet of advertising for every parking space.
