Ohio-based racking manufacturer Solar FlexRack has delivered steel racking solutions for the 71MW Brantley solar farm – an installation owned by Cypress Creek Renewables that is 30 miles east of Raleigh, North Carolina.

In total, more than 5,200 tones of North-American sourced steel was used to develop the racks manufactured for Cypress Creek’s Brantley solar farm, which is equivalent to the amount of steel in around 4,300 cars.

Around 100 people are currently working on site at the Brantley solar farm to install both racking and modules.

Once completed, the Brantley solar farm will generate enough electricity to power around 8,000 homes annually and is expected to be operational by the end of 2018.

Steve Daniel, executive vice president of Solar FlexRack, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been selected to supply this project. Cypress Creek Renewables has been instrumental in supporting the growth of the solar industry in North Carolina, generating jobs for communities, and providing passive income opportunities for landowners.
