Independent power producer (IPP) Enery Development has formed a 50-50 joint venture (JV) with Romanian oil and gas producer OMV Petrom to build a 400MW solar PV plant in Bulgaria.
The modules are being shipped to SolarPro, a Bulgarian engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company which specialises in renewable and hybrid energy projects.
Interest in co-locating solar PV with energy storage is increasing in Southern Europe, as grid curtailments and negative or near zero prices for solar PV become more frequent.
