Wafer manufacturers in China are posting massive profits despite competition soaring and wafer sizes increasing across the market

China expects to install up to 108GW of solar this year, nearly double the capacity it installed last year.

Solar investments in China reached RMB29 billion (US$4.4 billion) in the first four months of the year, according to the country's National Energy Administration (NEA).

China is expected to add 83 – 99GW of PV capacity every year from 2022 to 2025, while Europe is now its largest export market for solar products, according to a China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) report on the outlook for the PV industry over the next few years.

Distributed PV installations in China topped 29GW last year, contributing more than half of total solar installations in the country for the first time.

China could install up to 65GW of solar this year, driven largely by a surge in demand for distributed solar installations, while average solar deployment could reach 90GW per year in the years leading up to 2025.
