Meyer Burger is on track to start shipments of its first heterojunction (HJ) solar modules made in Germany to distributors in July.

Regulators in Europe should throw their support behind re-establishing a solar manufacturing base in the continent that could reach a capacity of 20GW and support more than 100,000 jobs, Meyer Burger and SMA have said.

Solar cell manufacturer Runergy has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with equipment provider Shenzhen SC in a bid to add 30GW of mono PERC and 5GW heterojunction cell capacity to its lines.
