Iberdrola's US subsidiary, Avangrid, has begun construction on its 240MW True North solar PV plant in Falls County, Texas. The project has a power purchase agreement in place with social media and data giant Meta.
Despite projections that solar PV and wind generation capacity will more than double by 2035, the Texas transmission grid will need to be upgraded to avoid increased asset curtailment across the state.
