Tariff Roof-Top Ground-Based BIPV Term
Egypt

In February 2008, the country’s Supreme Energy Council targeting renewable energy generated electricity to reach 20% of total energy generated by 2020. This is expected to come predominantly from wind although solar CSP and PV will account 2.2%.

A feed-in tariff was developed under the former President Mubarak however the new government is yet to make any clear statements to support FiTs for renewable energy.

Stakeholders in Egypt believe that it will still take 2-3 years before a REFiT policy is established.
