Wagner Solar U.K. has appointed Kamil Shah as its new Marketing Manager. Shah, who arrives from Sanyo where he was European corporate communications manager, will be responsible for setting up the marketing department and coordinating all promotion and communication activities in the U.K.

“The solar market here in the UK is a much younger market than in most of continental Europe,“ Carsten Pump, Wagner Solar‘s U.K. managing director, said. “There is a lot of attention on the U.K. at the moment, but general public awareness of solar technology is still poor, so we are pleased to welcome Kamil Shah to implement consumer centric campaigns to facilitate an improvement in public understanding and support our installer partners with a quicker uptake in technology.”

Kamil Shah added, “Wagner Solar U.K. is a joint venture company which combines the benefits of local expertise and combined buying power through the German parent company. The company has access to some of the world’s greatest manufacturers and so the offer to build a marketing function within this environment was too hard not to miss. Wagner & Co have a strong ethos of quality and reliability, so in addition to the consumer focused campaigns, we will set up a programme of training events for U.K. installers to pass on the technical knowledge for better quality installs.”
