PV Powered commercial inverters have been installed in a new office-building project in Lakewood, New Jersey. Premier Power Renewable Energy completed the design, engineering and installation of the project, which also features new high-density CIGS thin-film cylindrical solar panels by Solyndra.
Cylindrical thin-film PV manufacturer Solyndra has signed a new distribution agreement with Allied Building Products, a leading U.S. distributor of roofing, solar and other building products and materials. Allied will be the CIGS solar company's first North American distributor.
Solar systems integrator Solis Partners has completed the fourth of six installations for Norkus Enterprises, operator of Foodtown supermarkets in Monmouth and Ocean counties in New Jersey. The combined rooftop system features Solyndra's CIGS PV panels and will be reportedly one of the largest installations of the thin-film company's tubular-module-based products in the United States.
Solyndra has signed a multiyear framework agreement worth up to $105 million with Milan, Italy-based solar integrator Sun System. The copper-indium-gallium-(di)selenide (CIGS) thin-film solar panels for this Euro-based agreement will be manufactured at Solyndra's facilities in Fremont and Milpitas, CA. The latest deal pushes the announced amount of deals cut by the TFPV firm to nearly $650 million since May.
Thin-film photovoltaics producer Solyndra has signed another long-term sales contract, this time with German solar integrator Ebitschenergietechnik. The Euro-based contract, worth up to $115 million, extends through 2013 and pushes Solyndra's contractual backlog to approximately $1.8 billion. The cylindrical copper-indium-gallium-(di)selenide (CIGS) TFPV panels will be manufactured at the company's facilities in Fremont and Milpitas, CA.
Costco has tapped Solar Power Inc. to design and install a 500-kW (AC) photovoltaic system at the retailer's Hazlet, NJ, store. The array will employ Solyndra's cylindrical copper-indium-gallium-(di)selenide (CIGS) thin-film PV modules. The installation will be the single largest commercial PV system to date that incorporates Solyndra panels.
