Finlay Colville joins Solarbuzz as senior analyst

Solarbuzz has announced Finlay Colville as the new senior analyst who will be in charge of improving the company’s reporting on solar manufacturing equipment, which includes technologies and trends and forecasts in the solar industry. The new appointment comes after Solarbuzz’s recent acquisition by the NPD Group last month.

Colville expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “I am excited to be joining the Solarbuzz team, which has built a strong reputation for its extensive market knowledge throughout the entire solar/PV value supply chain. As the industry continues to witness astonishing growth rates, I look forward to leveraging the knowledge and insight of such a distinguished team, while helping to expand its client base with new reports, services and expertise.”

Up until recently, Colville was the marketing director for Coherent’s solar business unit, managing the firm’s market intelligence and product strategy in the solar arena. Before Coherent, he served as technical director at Capital City Lasers and had various positions in research and development at different laser companies in the U.K. and U.S. Colville has also been a speaker at solar industry events and is a contributor to solar trade magazines and online newsletters.

Colville received a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in laser physics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
