“We are pleased with our partnership with Flex in Brazil. We chose to work with the company because of its extensive experience in developing and managing the local supply chain,” said Dr. Shawn Qu, President and CEO of Canadian Solar Inc. “Canadian Solar has a portfolio of 390 MWp of solar projects in Brazil that are expected to enter commercial operation in 2017 and 2018. The new plant will supply the products for our projects and for the domestic market.”

Canadian Solar previously won auctions to build three PV power plants in in Pirapora and Vazante, in the state of Minas Gerais. The 191.5MWp Pirapora I project was said to be under construction and operational in the third quarter quarter of 2017.
