Spanish inverter specialist Power Electronics is to supply its HEC V1500 inverters for two 30MW solar projects in Brazil owned by Gas Natural Fenosa.

Gas Natural Fenosa subsidiary Green Power Generation (GPG) previously acquired a majority (85%) stake in the two plants located in the northern region of Piauí from Gransolar.

Both plants are expected to be operational in the second half of 2017, providing an output of 154GWh per year.

Brazilian solar was stumped by the cancellation of its only auction last year, but some industry members expect strong growth in spite of this.
