Solar power company Canadian Solar announced that its subsidiary — Canadian Solar Solutions — has agreed to contracts that would supply 60 MW DC of MaxPower CS6X Ontario-made solar panels and 30 medium voltage PV stations for the Southgate Solar facility.
The second-largest Silicon Module Super League (SMSL) member, Canadian Solar has secured US$70 million in loans and equity investment from the International Finance Corporation to support its previously announced plans to establish a 300MW module assembly plant in Vietnam and production plants elsewhere, such as Brazil.
Southern Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, has acquired a 51% stake in the 200MW Garland PV project in California by signing an agreement with Canadian Solar subsidiary Recurrent Energy.
Samsung Renewable Energy, through its partnership with Connor, Clark and Lunn Infrastructure (CC&L Infrastructure), has closed on US$195 million of debt financing for a 50MW solar project in Windsor, Ontario.
